Founded in February of 2013, Calder Group is a full-service Government Relations, political campaign management, fund development and strategic communications firm. Calder Group partners with its clients to persuade and mobilize voters, donors, consumers, members, or public.

Calder Group works aggressively to help shape public policy and infuse our clients’ interests into the agendas and initiatives of state Legislatures; Executive and Administrative branches, agencies, and bureaus; and local and County governments. Jared Rodriguez

Jared Rodriguez



Prior to founding and becoming partner in Calder Group, Jared joined the West Michigan Policy Forum (WMPF), a non-profit advocacy organization he helped found and organize, in February of 2011. As President of the WMPF his role was to provide the leadership, education and voice of Michigan business executives to help guide the Governor, administration and legislature in turning Michigan around. Jared’s scope of work included planning legislative strategy and engagement around the following directives: Eliminating the Michigan Business Tax, making Michigan a Right-to-Work State, Increased Funding for Health Care Providers, Streamlining the state of Michigan’s Permitting Processes, and Updating Funding Mechanisms for Transportation Infrastructure.

Before joining the West Michigan Policy Forum, Jared served in numerous roles at the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, including Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, from December 2001 to February 2011.

Tara Rodriguez



Tara joined Calder Group in September of 2014, bringing a broad range of experience in campaign management, project management, fundraising, and event planning/execution to Calder Group’s service offerings. Her previous work experience includes the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce where she served as Public Policy Coordinator, advocating on behalf of Chamber members and leading the Environmental Affairs and Education & Workforce Development Committees. Additionally, Tara managed the Chamber’s Political Action Committee, the Friends of West Michigan Business PAC.

Prior to her tenure with the Chamber, Tara worked for DCI Group, a Washington D.C.-based strategic public affairs firm. At DCI Group, Tara worked closely with firm leadership, managing various special projects for DCI Group’s founding Partners. Her scope of work included fundraising for numerous political, leadership, and capital campaigns, managing DCI Group’s Political Action Committee, and execution of various high-level executive management and support activities.

Todd Stuart

Associate & General Counsel


Todd joined Calder Group in 2013, serving as an associate and the firms’s general counsel.  Todd’s background as a small business attorney and business law professor provides him with a unique understanding of the needs of a variety of Michigan businesses. He has negotiated numerous agreements with fortune 500 companies and advised countless small businesses on best practices.

Todd’s scope of work includes in-house legal consulting, fundraising, and general consulting.
